Let's Go Ice Skating!

Hey, come on out! The pond has frozen over and they have ice skates up for rent. It doesn't matter whether you know how or not, it'll still be fun! Falling down a little builds character. How about we teach each other? Oh, uh, I'm not sure if you should just be colliding into people like that. That's pretty mean, and also maybe likely to get us kicked out. Hey, wait, be careful! Brake, brake, look out look out look out—!

[So what if he's never done this before? That's never stopped him from trying anything else; and besides, he's so coordinated that he'll probably get the hang of it in no time! He's walking a little wobbly now, thanks to the blades beneath his feet -- but come on, who can blame him? It'll definitely be different when he gets on the ice.

As soon as he gets into the groove, maybe he can put on a real show . . .

He approaches the rather large pond and cautiously takes his first step. No turning back now.]

[Marie's already there and waiting for Raphael to start--she's just as confident as he is that he'll pick it up in no time flat, after all.]

[looting]

[O- Okay maybe this is a little more slippery than he'd expected. His arms are held out now, and he fumbles a bit as one hand reaches for a wall that simply isn't there.

But all in all, he still hasn't fallen, and he grins at Marie, smooth as ever.]

Waiting for me?

[markedviolin]

I am. [She skates over to him, then waits. He'll be fine, right?]

[looting]

[Absolutely!!!

He looks a bit sheepish, though. Usually he's the one doing the waiting.]

You don't have to. I'll catch up.

[Just ignore the wobbling. He is totally In Control.]

[Well, if he says so!] Well... all right.

[She'll just skate on ahead then. Backwards. And maybe do a couple spins because she's awesome like that.]

[looting]

[WHY THIS . . . . . .

Raphael just stares, for a moment completely still. And then it occurs to him that he may have to take it back. He raises his voice a bit so he can hear her, tone playful:]

Or maybe I won't!

[Heh. Yeah, just going to keep gliding on forward one step at a time.]
