-Okay so it's really a huge-ass BONFIRE I just wanted to make a clever reference
-No seriously click the link it will totally set the mood.
-ANYWAY you're sitting around a sweet-ass bonfire in the countryside
-or on a beach
-or under the fucking water for all I care fuck science it's your choice
-There's probably like, s'more making or hotdog roasting too who the fuck cares
-And cheesy sing-a-long songs
-And possibly even underwear burning or like throwing random things into the fire
-Or even dancing naked around it like the satanic witches you are.
-Since y'all are suckers for romance the bonfire is pretty fucking romantic
-It can also be pretty fucking platonic because let's face it sometimes you want to do shit with friends
-Just roll with the scenario, have fun, and enjoy the fucking bonfire because it really looks fucking awesome

[Kita, currently, is sitting pretty close to the giant fire, with a pile of driftwood next to him, which he idly chucks in once in a while.

There's other Tengawaras here too, of course - a one person bonfire is lonely! - but Kita's... being Kita. Come join him, seriously --]

Normally Hayabusa doesn't do parties but since this one was outdoors, it was an exception.]

[And for that matter, who needs inns? Why would you ever want to waste your money paying for something like THAT when you can sleep anywhere for free!? Of course, not everyone is comfortable on a chilly night like this without some extra heat. So Gold at least had the decency to set up a campfire tonight.

This was a great idea, Gold! [She'll just be digging food out of her bag to share with him, having settled in near the campfire.]

Meanwhile, he'll be doing the same. Good food is Important, so naturally he has plenty stuffed into his bag. They'll be having a nice dinner, at least!

[Mienshao's gone as well, but Stoutland's nearby--in fact, Bianca's leaning against him, looking perfectly content.]

I mean... I can understand that some of them aren't hardy enough for this, but I've had to do this sort of thing a lot, so it's no big deal for me.

If they're not hardy enough, they should try it! It's a good way to toughen up.

Until Cheren caught up with me after I ran away, I actually spent all my nights outdoors if I could help it.

No, not family. Childhood friends. Touya, he, and I were inseparable when we were little. [At least until Touya got ran out of Nuvema but that's irrelevant.]

That's neat. The only people I've known since I was little are my family and my Pokemon.

[That's because you spent all of your time either indoors or out in the middle of the woods, Gold...]

... Well, to be fair, Touya and Cheren were the only ones I really knew outside of my Pokemon and my family, but... [She shrugs.] If my father had his way, I wouldn't even have known Touya.

It... wasn't. My father was a strict man... and he... well, he really didn't like Touya. At all.

[A pause as the Stoutland leans into the ear scritches happily.] I eventually got tired of being restricted all the time and just ran away.

...which is nice because whoever's with Rizzo was likely dragged into playing in the water. Just because he doesn't seem to mind soggy clothes doesn't mean everyone else is the same. At least they'll likely dry quickly in front of this blaze.

Rizzo gets a head-start at least--it takes Barry a minute of flailing to get his bearings. Not that it takes long for the blond to close the distance between them...]

[Y-YOU DO THAT, PAL... Rapidash would help, except it's made of pointy bits and probably wouldn't be a good cushion. It paws at the sand and cringes a bit as the two rapidly approach.

Rizzo might beat Barry on reflexes, but not so much on raw speed, so they'll be neck to neck soon enough.

...Infernape may indeed end up getting glomped at this rate.]

Infernape isn't as amused, but he seems content enough to see the boys happy. Sup, Rapidash, he's all right, bro.]

[The sacrifices they make for these ridiculous smiles... Rapidash gives Infernape a sympathetic nudge with its nose.

Rizzo turns to take a look at the goal they nearly became a little too familiar with. Ooh?]

[But it's definitely worth it, the Infernape just looks over at the Rapidash and shrugs, giving its equivalent of a chuckle.]

No kidding! Rapidash did a really impressive job! [Wow excuse you Barry, Infernape helped gather the wood for that.]

[As neat as it is, it's a little hot, so he absentmindedly takes a step back from the blaze.]

The blond stretches before falling back onto the sand, staring up at the darkening sky.] Today's been a lot of fun! I don't meet a lot of people who can keep up like that!

[The Infernape just kind of sighs and looks over at the Rapidash.]

It has! I rarely encounter such a worthy opponent.

[Translation: Someone who will stick with him through a WHOLE DAY of racing and splashing and etc etc. Rizzo goes and sits himself down next to Barry.]
